Quizoff privacy policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
Quizoff is a sports trivia game for iPhone. This page explains what Quizoff keeps about you, why, who else handles it, how long it's kept, and what you can do about it.
Quizoff is run by Hamza SAMID, who is responsible for your data. For questions and requests, write to hamza.samid.pro@gmail.com.
What Quizoff keeps
- A guest account. The first time you open Quizoff, it creates an account for you with a random ID and a made-up display name such as Player#4821. You don't give a name, email address or phone number to play.
- Your Apple ID, if you save your progress. Sign in with Apple gives Quizoff an identifier for your Apple ID and the email address you chose to share, which can be a private relay address from Apple. Apple may also give Quizoff a token, kept so that deleting your account can end Quizoff's access to your Apple ID. Quizoff doesn't ask Apple for your name.
- Your games. The rounds and live matches you play: the questions, your answers, whether they were right, how long you took, your scores, and your tier and accuracy in each sport.
- Sign-in records. For each phone you're signed in on, a fingerprint (a hash) of the token that keeps it signed in, never the token itself, with when it was issued and when it expires.
In a live match, your opponent sees your display name and your score. Quizoff's server doesn't record your IP address or identifiers for your device.
What Quizoff doesn't do
Quizoff shows no ads, doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and has no analytics or advertising code in the app. Your data isn't sold, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Why Quizoff uses it
- To run the game you asked for: your account, your rounds and matches, and your tiers. This is needed to provide the service (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep accounts safe, for example by noticing when a stolen sign-in token is used. This is Quizoff's legitimate interest in a secure service (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Who else handles it
- Render (render.com) hosts Quizoff's server and database in the United States. Like any web host, it handles your phone's IP address to carry requests to and from Quizoff.
- Apple, if you use Sign in with Apple, under Apple's privacy policy.
Nobody else receives your data, unless the law requires it.
How long it's kept
- Your account and games: until you delete your account.
- A sign-in on a phone: until you sign out, or 90 days after the app last renewed it. The app renews it while you play.
- When you delete your account, it stops working at once and your Apple ID is unlinked. About an hour later, your account, progress, rounds and sign-in records are erased. Copies can remain in the database host's backups for a few days, until those expire. Live matches you played stay in your opponents' history, with no link to you.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time in Quizoff's Settings, under Delete account.
- If you saved your progress with Apple, you can sign out in Settings. Your account stays saved, and signing in with the same Apple ID brings it back.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct or erase it, or object to how it's used, by writing to hamza.samid.pro@gmail.com. Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, these are your rights, and you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Security
The app only talks to Quizoff's server over encrypted connections (HTTPS). On your phone, the sign-in token is kept in the iPhone's Keychain; on the server, only its hash is stored.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page shows the new version and the date it was updated.
